We have lots of plans for this academic year. Already we have been busy in the pond area. Our first task was to clear out the packed shed where we keep all our equipment. We were surprised to find a tiny vole living there. Our shed is desperately in need of a set of low shelves so if you are throwing any out that would been suitable please see Mrs Rigby.

One of our big targets this year is WASTE

We have joined ‘The Big Tidy Up’ campaign and will be having our litter pick up lunchtime meeting once every term. Look out for us in our smart green tabards!

We have already started our campaign to GO ZERO at lunchtimes. Year 6 made some super posters which are displayed throughout the school. We have had one lunchtime where we monitored the lunchbox waste we produced.  We hope to have another in the new year to see if we have made an improvement…this next lunchtime will be a spot check one …so keep that waste ZERO!

We have had an assembly given by Julia from the Recycling Consortium on Christmas waste. Check out our ‘top tips for a greener christmas’ display in the corridor.

Future events planned this year include our annual January Toy Sale.

Time to clear out those old toys before Christmas pack them up and store them for this event.  See also our eco action plan for this year.

Thank you
