Welcome to the website area for the PTFA. We will use this page to update you about PTFA fundraising and forthcoming events.
The Ark Have you seen the new Ark play equipment in the playground? The PTFA has helped build the Ark by donating £6,000 to the school to assist with the costs of the project. We need your continued support to help us achieve similiar fundraising goals in 2009/10.
We need your ideas! We are currently planning new PTFA events for this year. If you have any ideas or would like to help us fund-raise for the school, please come along to one of the PTFA meetings or drop a message into the school reception. There were lots of new faces at our last meeting in October - it would be great to see some more!!!
The PTFA meet on the first Monday of every month at The Poacher in Portishead from 8pm onwards. Please come to our meetings to help us create new fundraising ideas, run our events and generally raise money for the school.
Our next meeting is on the: 2nd November 2009
On the last Friday of every month the PTFA organise coffee / tea for parents following the morning assembly. Please come along. It is great chance to have a general chat, meet other parents and find out more about the PTFA.
* Standing Order Forms Would you really miss £2 per month? If every family at St. Joseph's were to donate £2.00 per month by standing order, the PTFA could raise an extra £4,923.00 per year. This would double the current PTFA fundraising total. Just think of the difference this money could make to the resources we could provide our children! If you are interested in signing up, please contact a PTFA member or use the forms which will shortly be posted on this site.

We have set-up a search engine that will raise money for the PTFA and allow you to search the world wide web at the same time. You can get to the website using the above link. Every time the website is accessed and used the PTFA will receive a 1p donation to our funds. For more details, look for the posters at school. * Shopping & Pamper Evening We need stallholders for this evening. If you would know anyone who may be interested, please contact Karen or Doro by leaving your name and contact details with reception.
What are we raising money for?
The PTFA work hard to fundraise to provide extra items and activities for the children. The PTFA money has been spent on:-
1) The Ark 2) Visualisers for classrooms 3) Social events for the children - Christmas disco's, Barbecues 4) Sun hats for reception 5) Library books 6) Extra classroom resources for the teachers
We are now looking at new projects for 2010
We are hoping to display a "totaliser" at the school to track our progress towards our new goal.
