School Council

The school council is elected each year by the children in the school.  Each child has 2 votes.  They must vote for one girl and one boy to represent their class at the school council.  Any children standing for school council must provide a manifesto which must be read out to the class.

Meetings are held about twice a half term.  A secretary takes the minutes and helps provide an agenda.

The school council helps to raise money to provide equipment which they and their classmates feel is needed.  To date they have raised money by organising a silly hair day, a cake sale and they have also published a

school newspaper.  Different charities are also supported, the last fundraising day was to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis.  Over £800 was raised and this was donated to 2 cystic fibrosis charities.  Mrs McGowan raised awareness of the needs of people affected by this disease in an assembly prior to our sponsored obstacle course.
